Weekly drop — a new board every Sunday at 11:59 PM ET
Published late: Board #03’s canonical slot was Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. The board’s drop record missed the Sunday staging, so the board publishes on Monday, October 26 instead. The calls, lines and windows are exactly as the desk set them for this board, and every picks-close and verdict time falls after this publication.
Four frozen calls. Make your call, test scenarios, and return for the public verdict (first call grades Oct 29).
Sealed · Frozen means this board's claims, grading rules, verdict dates and lines were sealed after publication and hash-locked with a SHA-256 seal, so anyone can verify the files still match what was frozen. Sealed terms never change afterward: corrections and updates appear only as clearly labeled addenda or errata, and an addendum never changes a call's terms. Grades use First-Print Finality: the frozen engine grades on first-published values only — revisions don't count, and later revisions never re-open a settled grade.
Your calls fill in as you make them below. Made counts the picks you have cast (Agree/Disagree); Saved counts the calls recorded in this browser with their scenario — voting saves a call automatically, and you can re-save an updated scenario from a call’s scenario bar without changing your vote. Your personal receipt and scenario assumptions stay in this browser — only an anonymous Agree/Disagree count is added to the public crowd tally.

META Moves ±5% on Its Q3 Print
LOCKED RECORD · DESK CALL
META Platforms (META) moves more than ±5% close-to-close after its Q3 2026 earnings release (Wednesday, October 28, after the close).
“Adjusted close” is the official daily closing price after any stock split or dividend adjustment; the move is measured from the day of the earnings report to the next trading day’s close, up or down.
Picks close at the October 28 cash close because the graded move is measured directly from that mark. The ±5% threshold sits right where META's own historical split sits, while the desk's 7.6% scenario input reflects the name's mean absolute earnings move. Outside view: 27 of META's last 49 quarterly prints (55.1%) have cleared the ±5% bar. Inside view: recent META prints have run hot against that long-run average, a volatility regime that cuts both ways around a single release.

META reports Q3 2026 after the close on Wed Oct 28, 2026. Graded move = |adjusted close Thu Oct 29, 2026 − adjusted close Wed Oct 28, 2026| / adjusted close Wed Oct 28, 2026 × 100, using split- and dividend-adjusted closes (FMP data via Achilles BigQuery). Desk confidence 0.55 is that base rate, rounded. If META reschedules the print, the verdict follows the actual print date and picks lock at the earlier of the sealed close time or the actual release.

AMD Moves ±5% on Its Q3 Print
LOCKED RECORD · DESK CALL
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) moves more than ±5% close-to-close after its Q3 2026 earnings release (Tuesday, November 3, after the close).
“Adjusted close” is the official daily closing price after any stock split or dividend adjustment; the move is measured from the day of the earnings report to the next trading day’s close, up or down.
AMD is the most explosive large-cap name in the candidate pool, with an 8.7% mean absolute move that sets our default scenario input. Picks lock at the November 3 close right before the release hits the tape. Outside view: 33 of AMD's last 49 quarterly prints (67.35%) have moved more than ±5% close-to-close. Inside view: November 3 is U.S. Election Day, and broad macro index flows on November 4 can either mute or amplify a single-name earnings reaction, shading desk confidence to 0.65.

Base rate at seal: 33 of AMD's last 49 quarterly prints (67.35%) moved more than ±5%; mean absolute move 8.72%. Desk confidence 0.65 sits just under the raw base rate — a single name's distribution is fat-tailed in both directions, and Nov 3 is U.S. Election Day (exchanges run a full session; the verdict reads off the Nov 4 close). October CPI Rises +0.5% or Less
LOCKED RECORD · DESK CALL
The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), seasonally adjusted, rises no more than +0.5% month over month in October 2026 (BLS release Tuesday, November 10, 8:30 AM ET).
“Seasonally adjusted” removes the regular calendar patterns in prices (holidays, seasons, school years) so one month can be compared with the next. The desk grades the adjusted figure BLS headlines.
Monthly inflation in 2026 has run hot and volatile, so the +0.5% line is set directly at the year's empirical split with a +0.4% desk scenario input. Outside view: 5 of the 9 monthly prints of 2026 through September came in at or under +0.5% (55.6%). Inside view: September's +0.65% spike was energy-led, and the desk expects partial payback in October rather than a second consecutive acceleration.

Unemployment Holds at 4.2% or Below in October
LOCKED RECORD · DESK CALL
The U.S. unemployment rate (U-3, seasonally adjusted) prints at or below 4.2% in the October 2026 Employment Situation report (BLS release Friday, November 6, 8:30 AM ET).
“U-3” is the headline unemployment rate: jobless people actively looking for work, as a share of the labour force. It is the rate BLS leads the Employment Situation report with.
The unemployment rate has been pinned in a 4.1%–4.2% band since June, making this call a question of a single tenth of drift. Outside view: the trailing four prints all landed at or under 4.2% against a 4-of-9 (44.4%) full-year base rate. Inside view: nonfarm payroll growth slowed to +29k in September, arguing the next move in U-3 is up — the desk takes the pinned level over the slowing trend and prices the hold barely better than a coin flip at 0.55.
Board #03 tests the October unemployment rate alone, at a tighter line; Board #02 tests the same release as a two-leg call. Different call from Board #02’s “October Hiring Rebounds Past 100K” — that one needs BOTH payrolls at 100k+ AND U-3 at or below 4.3% to grade ACCURATE. This call grades on the U-3 leg only, at 4.2% or below, from the same Nov 6, 2026 release.

The desk's call: Desk scenario: October U-3 prints 4.2%, unchanged from September. Under the frozen rule this grades ACCURATE.
Each call is a frozen record: a one-sentence claim, a confidence level, a registered source with a written extraction rule, and a threshold rule. You move the assumptions; the engine shows the hypothetical grade for your scenario. Saving a call records your full receipt (your pick, slider assumptions, timestamp, and rubric hash) locally in your browser, and sends a single anonymous +1 (Agree or Disagree) to the public tally.
Official verdicts are computed by the same frozen function (gradeOfficialResult in verdict.js) on first-published values from the registered source. Revised prints do not alter a grade. PARTIAL means exactly one thing: direction right, required magnitude not met.
Integrity & sign-off
Call authors do not sign off their own grading. Sealed by the desk in single-operator mode. A second signer will be named before Board #02.
Corrections
Corrections rerun the frozen function on corrected inputs; the function is never rewritten. Corrections appear as visible errata, not silent edits.
Sealed after publication. Published 2026-10-26T07:48:00-04:00; seal recorded 2026-10-26T11:48:09+00:00. The seal is a SHA-256 hash of this board's call configuration plus the verdict engine, recorded at seal time. The same frozen engine grades the official outcomes, and anyone can verify the current files match the sealed hash. The seal does not by itself prove the rules were unchanged between publication and sealing.
1. Local Receipt: Your saved calls, slider scenarios, and timestamps live in this browser’s localStorage. 2. Public Tally: When you vote in Step 1, your browser sends only the call ID and “Agree” or “Disagree” to increment the public counter — no cookies, no IP logging, no identity, and never your slider values. If you change your vote, the update request also includes a simple true/false flag indicating whether the crowd tally was already visible on screen (aggregated as anonymous counts only, with no user identifier). Safari on iPhone can clear site storage on its own after about 7 days without interaction, not only when you clear browser data. To keep a record outside the browser, your pick and timestamp are embedded in the calendar reminder file and the “my receipt” link.
